Deadly Sins
The World is on fire,
Its burning from within,
And everyones desire,
Is someone else’s sin.
The people are all suffering,
No matter the color or creed,
The fire is now smoldering,
Its flames are fueled by GREED.
We are our own worst enemy,
Devouring ourselves bit by bit,
The hunger turns to GLUTTONY,
As the fire now persists.
We’re always moving forward,
But is it in the right direction?
To busy playing follow the leader,
To realize PRIDE is an infection.
We mistake LUST for love,
It happens all the time,
No answers from above,
Now the fires close behind.
The fires nipping at our heels,
Because we’ve all grown LAZY,
The smoke billows and slowly fills,
As our World becomes hazy.
The fire burns more wildly,
While the World continues to spin,
And we all sit by idly,
As we let the ANGER in.
We are all consumed by ENVY,
You can see it everywhere,
When everyones your enemy,
You forget why you were scared.
The fire is now within me,
It’s God’s gift for me to share,
But it seven deadly sins,
That won’t get you anywhere.
